On October 28, 2023, the New Mexico Law Review hosted a symposium on the 2021 New Mexico Civil Rights Act. The event brought together 250 attendees to hear from local panelists with keynote addresses from Professor Joanna Schwartz, Professor of Law at the UCLA School of Law and author of Shielded: How the Police Became Untouchable, and Julie Murray and Matthew Segal, Senior Staff Attorneys at the ACLU and leading the ACLU's State Supreme Court Initiative.
